CVC-MOAA CHAPTER ACTIVITIES
We hold monthly luncheons with stimulating speakers presenting various military and veteran’s topics. There is always an opportunity to meet and socialize with other military officers during the luncheons.
A major focus is supporting the JROTC programs at La Quinta High School (Air Force) and Desert Hot Springs High School (Marine Corps). This includes providing cadets with the opportunity to meet and present at chapter luncheons. In addition, we award scholarships and leadership awards to the top JROTC cadets.
In addition to our monthly luncheons, we hold various social events. We are always looking for people to help with ideas and planning for such events.
LEGISLATIVE ISSUES OF CVC-MOAA
CVC-MOAA is a non-political organization although we support legislative actions and lobbying efforts at both the national (National MOAA) and state level (CAL-MOAA). A major success in 2025 was the enactment of tax exemption for military retiree pay in California.
GENERAL INFORMATION CVC-MOAA
CVC-MOAA is the only military officer exclusive association in the Coachella Valley. The Palm Springs Chapter (PSC-MOAA) was chartered by National MOAA on September 2nd, 1969. In 2025 we changed our name to reflect the entire valley – Coachella Valley Chapter – MOAA.
We hold monthly luncheons at a central location in the valley from October through May. We strive to have interesting speakers who help keep us abreast of issues that impact the military and veterans. Dress is desert casual unless stated.
Dues are $35 per year for members and $15 for spouses. Membership dues can be paid by cash, check or credit card at membership luncheons. Checks can be made out to CVC-MOAA.
